Coryphantha tripugionacantha
The plant pictured above is the one you will receive. It is growing in a 3' pot.
Coryphantha tripugionacantha is found near San Juan Capistrano in Zacatecas, Mexico at about 1000 m of elevation. It grows sympatrically with Echinocereus spinigemmatus and Echinocereus pamanesiorum. It belongs to a group of Coryphanthas characterized by large yellow flowers and the absence of visible glands in the furrows of tubercles.
Coryphantha tripugionacantha is somewhat difficult to grow and requires careful watering to prevent rot. It is rarely offered for sale. This specimen was grown from legally acquired seed and raised in my greenhouse..
